SATARA, Oct 17: Two teenage girls, Usha Sampatrao Gaikwad and Vaishali Vasant Jadhav from Chinchner-Limb on the hilly region of western Satara city committed suicide by jumping into the waterfall at Tusagarh on Thursday.The Tusagarh waterfall is about 30 kms west of Satara. Both the girls had come to Satara to appear for the SSC examination. They left the examination hall and stopped at Tusagarh waterfall on their way home, and committed suicide by jumping into the waterfall, according to the police.
The police patil from Chinchner, which is close to Tusagarh waterfall, found two pairs of slippers and some books near the waterfall. He noticed Vaishali and Usha's names on the books. The parents of the girls reported to the police patil their missing daughters on Thursday night. The police patil reported the news to Sambhaji Patil, police inspector who rushed to Tusagarh with his assistants.
The police team located the dead bodies of the two girls at the bottom of the at the waterfall through binoculars but could not reach the spot due to the thick undergrowth at the spot. The police then sought the assistance of trekkers to reach the spot, the police said.
