Woman shop lifts jewellery worth Rs 43,000

PUNE, Oct 17: An unidentified woman, posing as a shopper, decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 43,540 from the Sangamnerkar Jewellers shop on Karve Road last evening.

The woman, aged between 45 to 50, years entered the shop at around 6.30 pm and asked the employee to show some select ornaments. When the employee was looking for the ornaments in the show case, the woman suddenly decamped with bracelet, earrings, chain, and a locket. The woman could not be found despite attempts by the employees to search for her. The shop owner Subhash Sangamnerkar has lodged a complaint wit the Kothrud police.

Hit-and-run case: In a hit-and-run case, an eighty-year-old person Tukaram More lost his life when he was hit by some unidentified vehicle on Saturday morning. More was on his morning walk on the Senapati Bapat Road. The mishap took place at around 7 am. The Chatuhshrungi police are investigating.
