STUTTGART, OCT 17: The German newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung claimed on Friday it had discovered the original Schindler's list containing the names of Jews Oskar Schindler saved from the Nazi death camps. The newspaper's managing editor Uwe Vorkoetter told AFP there were ``no doubts about the authenticity of the documents.''
They were found in a large suitcase which as well as the list, contained photos of Schindler with some of his Jewish workers, the Stuttgarter Zeitung said.
Also enclosed were about one hundred letters written between Schindler and his wife, and papers tracing Schindler's life from the World War II until his death on October 9, 1974 in Hildesheim, Germany, said the paper.
A couple found the suitcase, a first-generation Samsonite, while cleaning the attic of their family home in Stuttgart. It had Schindler's name on one side and address of a close confidante on the other. Also included were the plans of Schindler's factory, press cuttings ``and a list of 1,200 Jewish names, typed several times, with several doubles: Schindler's list.''
The newspaper said the photos had been authenticated by a representative in Israel of the people Schindler saved.
