Mukta Arts diversifies

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, OCT 25: Subhash Ghai kept up with tradition and announced a set of new ventures on October 24, his wedding anniversary and the day reserved for launching anything new under his banner Mukta Arts.

This Sunday, the showman celebrated 21 years of Mukta Arts by adding another label to his company -- Mukta Arts International. A huge chunk of Bollywood -- Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Shatrughan Sinha, Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Rani Mukherjee, Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna -- looked on as Ghai spoke about the two new films to be produced under this banner. He is going to start directing the first one in January next year, with Kabir Lal as the cameraman and Sharmishta Roy as the art director. But he wouldn't say a thing about the star line-up, which is still being finalised, and the subject. The second film will be handled by Satish Kaushik.

Besides Hindi flicks, Mukta Arts International will also host stage shows, and produce English films, movies in otherIndian languages and music albums.

The afternoon gala also saw the release of Woh Mera Chand, written by London-based author and Ghai's aunt Pratibha Davar.
