Youth rams stolen car

CHANDIGARH, Oct 31: An 18-year-old allegedly stole a car but he was caught before he could drive out of the parking. The incident occurred outside a Sector 31 gurdwara where a religious function was on.

According to police sources, Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Sector 45, unlocked a Maruti car (CH-01-A-160) with duplicate keys. He had reached the exit of the parking area when he rammed the car into another Maruti car. No injury was reported.

Following the accident a large number of people gathered at the site, including the car owner, Ranvir Singh of Sector 32, who noticed immediately that one of the cars was his. Following the detection, the police took away the car thief. A case under for theft and causing accident has been registered against Gurpreet Singh.
