Major arms seizure at airport

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NOVEMBER 01: In the richest ever haul in recent years, a large cache of imported arms was recovered from the Cargo Complex of the international airport today. The consignment comprised 44 revolvers, one rifle of P 99 Walther Company and 20 tactical knives and also included some laser equipment.

Airport officials said the contraband was flown into the city by Air France from the US on October 12. The consignee is Chokshi Brothers and the weapons were designed for a militant outfit in Pondicherry. Officials suspect the importer to be a manufacturer of laser equipment in collaboration with a French company, which is being supplied to the Goverment of India.
