Lions Diwali Mela organised

CHANDIGARH, Nov 1: The Chandigarh Lions Club (Host) held its 29th Diwali Mela yesterday. Over 50,000 people participated in the Mela. Organised in aid of children of the Deaf and Dumb School, the Mela was attended by the district Governor of the club, Paramjit Kohli.

A cultural show was organised and prizes distributed to the winners of various competitions. For the tiny tots, on-the-spot painting and fancy dress competitions were organised in which more than 700 school children participated.

Following are the results of the show:
Fresh flower arrangement: Deepy Walia (first), Shipra Sharma (second) and Harpreet Kaur (third);
Solo song competition: Ruchika (first), Sonia (second) and Isha (third);
Healthy baby competition (below 3 years): Kunar (first), Manik Singh (second) and Hartaniya (third);
Fancy dress competition: Pradeep (first), Kavita (second) and Kumal Preet and Megha (third). It was a big draw of innovative ideas, dresses and themes.
