Scholarships
The Social welfare department has decided to provide scholarships to Scheduled Caste students studying in primary and secondary schools from the present academic session. An official release said SC boys (class 1 to 7) will be given Rs 450 while girls will get Rs 600.

Office divided
The office of the sub-registrar (Surat district) has been divided into four zones. Beginning this month, people can complete registration in Surat city (Athwa), Udhna, Navagam and Katargam. Residents from City survey wards 1 and 10 should now get job done at Athwa zone. Similarly wards 2,8 and 9 in the Udhna zone, wards 4,5,6 and 7 in Navagam zone while city survey ward No 11 and 12 in Katargam zone.
