PUNE, Nov 3: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has set up a committee - Community Participation Forum (CPF) to encourage peoples' participation in development works and also to honour the `right to information'.The forum, headed by the additional municipal commissioner, will comprise other civic officials and representatives of social groups and voluntary organisations. The committee will have periodic meetings in parts of the city, which will be attended by officials and representatives from the respective areas.
The committee will be offered information on development work in the area and will consider suggestions from the representatives. A press statement issued by PMC said that the CPF had been formed to make civic administration more transparent.
