Three injured in dacoity

PUNE, Nov 3: Three persons were injured when four dacoits targeted their residence at Madad village near Baramati late on Sunday night.

Police said Manda D Dapwale and her parents were fast asleep when the dacoits broke open the door of their residence and forced entry. The unidentified men thrashed up all the occupants of the house and snatched the ornaments worn by Manda and her mother.

The incident came to light only after the three injured went to a private hospital in Baramati. Later, Manda lodged a complaint of robbery at Baramati taluka police station.

St employee assaulted: Nandakumar S Kshirsagar, an employee of the Maharashtra State Regional Transport Corporation (MSRTC) posted at Rajgurunagar, was injured when attacked by a ST bus driver and an unidentified man early on Monday.

Kshirsagar has lodged a first information report (FIR) at Khed police station saying he was present at the Rajgurunagar ST termini when the ST bus driver and his accomplice demanded the keys of the booking office from him. The duo stabbed Kshirsagar when he refused to give them the keys, police said.

Vehicle theft case: Vilas B Nikalje of Aundh Road and Tanaji J Salve from Goregaon in Mumbai have been arrested by the Faraskhana police on vehicle theft charges.

Police said Nikalje and Salve had stolen the scooter of Jaywant S Lakhmade of Narayan Peth, which was parked opposite the Mahaveer Market building in Budhwar Peth, on Monday night. The stolen scooter has been recovered from the duo, they added.

Held for burglary: Satish G Dubey (19) from Talegaon Dabhade has been arrested by Nigdi police on burglary charges. Police said Dubey had forced entry inside the Akurdi-based Tushar Paan Stall after breaking its locks and stolen cigarettes and other tobacco products on Sunday night.

Assault case: Saranjit Singh Manjit Singh Bilko (28) of Nigdi Pradhikaran has lodged a first information report (FIR) at Nigdi police station stating that he was assaulted by atleast five six seater autorickshaw driver following a quarrel over petty reasons this morning. Police said Bilko was travelling near the Khandobacha Mal at Akurdi when his car brushed aside a six seater autorickshaw. Five six seater autorickshaw drivers assaulted Bilko and pelted stones at his car following that, they added.
