Kolhe demands a policy on excess sugarcane

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDNAGAR, Nov 3: The State Government should announce its policy on the excess sugarcane caused by the record sugarcane production in the state, Bipin Kolhe, former chairman of the Sanjivani Cooperative Sugar Factory, has said.

Kolhe was speaking at the launch of the 37th crushing season of the sugar factory, held in Kopargaon recently. He said that of the total 130 sugar factories in the State about 50 to 60 were sick and the current crushing season had offered them an opportunity to recover from their sickness. However these factories will now face the problem of excess sugarcane, he said and added that the State Government should immediately announce its policy in this connection.
