The Pakistani troops also fired 82 mm mortars, he said, adding situation all along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts except Nowshera sector was peaceful.

The details of casualties on the Pakistani side in the sector were being ascertained. However, there were no casualties or damage on the Indian side, the spokesman said and added troops were maintaining a high degree of alertness all along the LoC.

He also said that at least 17 Pakistani soldiers were killed as alert Indian troops foiled their attempt to capture the Faulad post on this side of the LoC in Gulmarg sector last night. The Pakistani attack came around 6.30 pm, which was followed by intense artillery and mortar shelling.
