Accused in Thapa firing case held

November 10: With the arrest of a Chhota Rajan hitman at Mulund on Sunday , the Detection Crime Branch claim to have cracked some important cases, including the attempt on the life of suspended Additional Commissioner of Customs and blasts case accused Som Nath Thapa.

A special squad apprehended Ramkant Janaksingh alias Rambhaiya at Mulund check naka on November 7. Janaksingh ( 34) is allegedly involved in the murder of one Narayan Pujari at Dahisar. He had also reportedly opened fire on Thapa near Rang Sharda hotel at Bandra Reclamation this year.

Investigations suggest that Janaksingh was acting on direct instructions from Rajan's key associates like Rohit Verma, Ravi Pujari, Guru Satam and Om Prakash Singh. Also involved in extortion, his victims include businessman, property holders and professionals.
