Fourteen villages in Sangamner taluka are affiliated to the Vikhe Sugar Factory. This year, the Sangamner Sugar Factory has offered better prices for sugarcane and therefore, many sugarcane producers had given their sugarcane to that factory. It was alleged that as a result, the management of the Vikhe Sugar Factory has been harassing these farmers.

Every year, on the occasion of the Diwali festival, each sugar factory gives free sugar to its all members. This year, however Vikhe Sugar factory has not given sugar to those who gave their sugarcane to the Sangamner Sugar Factory.
