Shandilya, Shroff lose
MUMBAI:
Indian cueists Ashok Shandilya and Sarang Shroff lost their second league matches of the Amateur World Snooker Championship at Papua New Guinea, according to the information received here. Shandilya was outclassed by Pakistan's Saleh Mohammed 0-4 and Shroff lost 3-4 to Belgian Peter Bullen.

Pioline for Chennai
CHENNAI:
World No 12 Cedric Pioline (France) has confirmed his participation in the ATP Gold Flake Open tennis here from Jan 3-9. Pioline joins Australian Open champion Yevgeny Kafelinkov and Carlos Moya.

Nayeem replaced
CALCUTTA:
Subrata Bhattacharya today replaced Syed Nayeemuddin as coach of Mohun Bagan. Nayeem was under pressure as the team fared badly in the All Airlines Gold Cup at Haldia and suffered an eight-goal thrashing at the hands of a Japanese team Jubilo in an Asian Club Cup Championship match.

Khanna manager
NEW DELHI:
Surinder Khanna has been appointed manager of the India A team for the tour of West Indies from Nov 13-Dec 13.

The team, which leaves tonight for West Indies, is led by Hrishikesh Kanitkar, with Roger Binny as coach. The team will play two four-day `Tests' and three one-dayers.

A website, www.indianhockey.com will feed live the Asia Cup Championship, at Kuala Lumpur from Nov 18-28. Along with live updates of matches played by India, the site will relay exclusive interviews with captains and coaches, and performance analysis of the teams.

Defending champions Border Security Force (BSF), runners-up Punjab and Sind Bank (PSB) and former champions Punjab Police earned full points on the second day of the 16th Indian Oil Surjit hockey tournament today.

National Junior TT
CHANDIGARH:
About 26 teams from all over the country will take part in the 61st Junior National and Inter State Table Tennis Championship will be held here from Nov 20-25.
