VADODARA, Nov 15: Five people were arrested by the police in connection with the alleged kidnapping of an agency-holder of Baroda Dairy, Parsottam Ambalal Patel, from near his house at Arihant Society in Karjan town two days ago.According to the police, the accused abducted Patel in a Maruti car (GJ-15-K-4410) in the wee hours of Saturday when he was distributing milk pouches at the booth near his house. Patel, however, managed to flee in the evening after which he lodged a complaint against the accused.
Patel, according to the FIR, had taken a loan of Rs 41,000 from the main accused one Kantilal Mohan Patel of Huseinpur village in Padra taluka and had returned Rs 29,000 in installments. But his relations with the accused got strained when he failed to return the remaining amount of the loan.
On Saturday morning, Kantilal, accompanied by four others, including his driver Arvind Vasava, came to Patel's house asked him to sit in their car. But when Patel, apprehending trouble, refused to comply, the four dragged Patel in their car and then drove to Kantilal's farmhouse on the outskirts of Huseinpur village.
According to Patel, he was severely beaten up and ordered to sell his house to Kantilal if he could not pay the money. The accused also threatened to kill Patel and dispose off his body if he did not act according to their instructions. Patel, however, managed to flee and went to Karjan Police Station where he lodged a complaint against the accused.
