MSU committee yet to meet

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, Nov 15: The five-member committee appointed by the M S University syndicate about a fortnight back is yet to hold a single meeting. The committee, which was formed to look into the allegations of malfunctioning in the Commerce Faculty canteen, has been asked by the syndicate to submit its report within a month. One member of the committee said, ``After last month's syndicate meeting, the members have not met even once. So, now it would not be possible to look into the allegations and submit a report.''

The member added that the committee had been appointed just before the University had closed for vacations and it would be impossible for the members to meet during the vacations.

``We have not yet got any official letter from the University declaring the first date of the meeting, although more than 15 days have passed since the body was appointed,'' the member said. He added that this is not the first such committee which would not be able to submit its findings within the stipulated time. He added that the University authorities have failed to act on suggestions of even those committees which submitted their report within the stipulated period.

He added the earlier committee which was set up to look into the allegations of the BBA course also failed to submit its report. The member, however, blamed the syndicate's timing to appoint the committee and the ensuing vacations for the delay in submitting its reports.
