Ban interviews of parents during admissions -- Sangh

PANCHKULA, NOV 15: A general body meeting of the Rashtriya Abhibhavak Sangh, a body of parents of school children, was held at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple Complex here yesterday.

Various issues relating to the malpractices in schools were discussed and various other demands were put up for consideration. The demands included framing of a joint admission policy, ban on interviews of parents for admissions to various classes, ban on collecting huge amounts in the name of various funds, to follow same text books all over the state or region and to make the text books available at competitive rates, among other demands.

It was also decided to hold a conference of representatives of various parents' bodies, representatives of various schools, welfare associations, citizen councils and educational experts to discuss the issue critically.
