Items worth 6 lakh for Orissa cyclone-affected dispatched

CHANDIGARH, NOV 15: In response to the appeal made by Dr Mahesh Sharma, Chairman, Khadi and V.I.Commission, Ministry of Industry, to provide relief for the cyclone-affected people of Orissa, a truckload of items including quilts, towels, clothes and woollen items worth Rs 6 lakh was flagged off by O.P. Bhardwaj, Chairman, Punjab Khadi and V.I.Board. Chandigarh Roller Flour Mills Association have also contributed a truckload of rice to the Orissa Cyclone Flood Relief, through Red Cross, today. The Sector 23 Citizens Welfare Society has collected a truckload of basic necessities like clothes, foodstuffs and mineral water for the Orissa cyclone-hit.
