NEW DELHI, November 25: Kurukshetra University lost a good opportunity to make the final grade when they lost to Bangalore University in the semi-finals of the all-India inter-zone varsity men's volleyball championship at Raipur, according to information reaching here today.Bangalore varsity spikers, playing an excellent game, downed Kurukshetra 25-23, 25-21, 25-22 in a gruelling encounter that saw quite a few ups and downs during the three games. Kurukshetra boys, despite putting up a brave front, ended as losers, thanks to some fine gameplan adopted by the Bangalore varsity spikers.
Bangalore varsity will now meet Madras University, who downed Bharatidasan University in four games. The varsity boys from Trichy in Tamil Nadu lost 21-25, 25-20, 28-30 and 20-25. After losing the first game, the Trichy boys staged very good comeback in the second and stretched Madras boys in the third as well before going dowon in the decider.
