Goa NCP to support Sardinha trust vote

NEW DELHI, NOV 28: Goa Nationalist Congress Party leader Wilfred A DeSouza today said his party would support the confidence vote by the Francisco Sardinha government on November 30. De Souza, who is the lone NCP representative in the 40-member state assembly, told PTI here that his party has taken this decision in the larger interests of the state and its development.He, however, clarified that NCP would continue to support the Sardinha government from outside so that political stability was maintained. De Souza, a former chief minister of the state, demanded the new government should investigate attacks on churches and priests in the state and punish the guilty. Sardinha, along with other ten rebel congress MLAs, was administered the oath of office and secrecy by governor Lt Gen (retd) J F R Jacob on November 24.
