DAV-8 wear u-19 boys cricket crown

CHANDIGARH, NOV 29: Amardeep's knock of 40 runs and fine bowling spell by Jagmeet Sekhon (4 for 15) helped DAV Senior Secondary School-8 beat Govt Model School-35 by 33 runs to lift title in under-19 boys section in the Chandigarh State Inter-School cricket tournament today.

Brief scores: DAV-8: 155 for 6 in 25 overs (Amardeep 40, Sanjay 20, Rajat Bhandari 22, Manpratap t2t7, Balwar 2 for 26); GMS-35: 122 in 24 overs (Amit Verma 26, Mohan 20, Balwar 15, Jagmeet Sekhon 4 for 15, Vipul 3 for 10, Rajat Bhandari 2 for 10).

SD-32 lose
Local SD College-32 lost to LLR Govt College, Dhudike, 0-3 in their opening league encounter in the Panjab University Inter-College hockey championship at PU Campus today.

Teinderpal Singh opened the account for the winners in the 22nd minute while Ravinder Singh consolidated the lead in the 47th minute. Arshdeep Singh completed the tally in the 63rd minute through a penalty corner.

In another league mach Govt College, Ludhiana scored a solitary goal win over GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar.

Jasbir Singh scored the match winner in the 40th minute.

SD College who are one of the strong contenders for the title, will have to pull up their slevees in their next league matches.

GNK College win
Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Abohar bagged first position in the PU Inter-College `B' division cricket tournament. GTB National College, Dakha took the second place. Abohar college beat Dakha college by six runs.

Brief scores: GN Khalsa College, Abohar: 150 in 28.5 over (Parminder 60) beat GTB National College, Dakha: 144 (Pardeep Kumar 24).
