Science exhibition
  • Antonio D'Silva High School at Dadar has won the over-all trophy at the junior level in a G N Ward-level Science exhibition for schools organised from November 30 to December 2. Bal Mohan school at Dadar won the over-all trophy in the senior category. The exhibition, hosted at Victoria High School at Mahim, was based on the topic `Meeting the Challenges of Life Through Science and Technology'. The inaugural function was graced by scientist Dr Jessica Diego while Lalita Deshpande, a language expert and bio-chemist was present on the last day.

    Festival on birds at Virar

  • National English High School at Virar is organising a week-long science festival titled`The Wondrous Winged World' from December 5 to 13. It offers a peep into the features of bewitching birds and exhibits 40 models of birds in their appropriate background. Curator of Nehru Science Centre, Worli, Anul Manekar will inaugurate this festival.

    Theatre for charity

  • Make-a-Wish-Foundationof India is putting up Padmashree Kalyanji's ``Little Wonders'' at Nehru Centre from December 9. Proceeds will go towards fulfilling the wishes of children suffering from life-threatening diseases. Donor cards will be on sale at Rhythm House from December 2.     Camp in wildlife sanctuary

  • Sanskruti Children's Club has organized a camp to Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary situated in the north of Karnataka on the banks of river Kali for 5 days on December 24.     Millennium get-together

  • St Xavier's Boys' Past Students Association has organised it's millennium get-to-gather to felicitate ex-principals and ex-teachers on December 18 at St Xavier's High School, Dhobi Talav from 7 pm. Ex-teachers and ex-students can call on 2844705 or 2823305 from 11 am to 6pm.

    Mushroom, herb cultivation

  • The Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM) will hold training programmes for the cultivation and marketing of mushrooms and herbal products from 2 pm to 5 pm on December 14 and 15 and December 16 and 17 respectively.     Treatment camp on asthma
