WASHINGTON, DECEMBER 21: United States will `over time' further reduce the entities list for New Delhi "as we consider India one of our good friends", a senior State Department official has said."I expect that over time there will be further adjustments to the entities list both in terms of the numbers as well as the coverage of the licensing elements here," the official preferring anonymity told reporters here yesterday.
He pointed that under the recent legislation a report on this is due to Congress by December 25. The commerce department, he said, has been "very, very cooperative" in bringing about a reduction in the entities list. Commerce is working well on this."
The commerce department recently lifted the post-Pokhran sanctions on 51 Indian enterprises from its original list of 200.
