A Giant Leap Backward...

Dear Sir,

Once again, in an all too familiar manner, the Pakistani army has dismissed a legitimate government. Like Afghanistan, it has taken a giant leap backward. At least now, will all the countries of the world, especially the US, stop equating India with Pakistan? Even in the most of unstable of times, India has never been in the danger of military occupation. Democracy has got thoroughly embedded in the country's psyche. Besides, India has never shown any designs or a tendency to use its nuclear capability irresponsibly. One can only hope that the US realizes its folly in traditionally supporting Pakistan. That is, if it is serious about fighting terrorism and fundamentalism.
