PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
PATNA, DECEMBER 30: A hoax call about hijacking of an Indian Airlines Calcutta-Delhi flight sent police forces rushing to Patna airport and the district police administration on maximum alert on Friday, officials said. During search operations in the plane at Patna airport, where the aircraft made a scheduled stop, a passenger on board was found possessing a knife for cutting fruits, according to IG (SB) Ashish Ranjan."The passenger was, however, not arrested as we found out after checks that there was no intention on his part to hijack the plane," Ranjan said. The caller told police before the plane had landed in Patna that an Indian Airlines flight from Calcutta to New Delhi via Patna had been hijacked.
