CHENNAI, JANUARY 4: Film star Rajnikant has been issued with summons asking him to appear in court in Saidapet on February 2.The summons was issued by V Arumugham, XI Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet, in a case relating to dispute over property.
Holding that a prima facie case has been made out for offences under sections 420, 448, 406, 409, 500, 120-B and 511 read with 34 IPC, Arumugham issued the summons after taking on file a complaint from M K Manoharan of Kodambakkam.
In his complaint Manoharan alleged that his property measuring 7.50 acres of land in Puliyur-Kodambakkam area has been forcibly taken away by Rajnikant and three of his associates -- Murali Prasad Rao, Asadulla Basha and Krishna Rao. His signatures were obtained on blank papers and they were used as documents against him.
Rajnikant constructed a Kalyana Mandapam in the name of Raghavendra on the land. He had lodged a complaint with the Kodambakkam police and with the City Commissioner of Police. Since there was no action, hepreferred the present complaint for a direction to the police register a case against the four for offences under various sections of the IPC.
