Tawde ton spurs Podar against Ruparel

MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 15: Premjit Tawde and number eight batsman Padmanabh Kulkarni pulled RA Podar out of troubled waters at the Elf-Vengsarkar Academy ground, Oval on Tuesday. While Tawde compiled a fine 105 (16x4), southpaw Kulkarni cracked 58 (6x4, 2x6) as Podar ended day one of the four-day Inter-Collegiate final on a satisfactory note. Opponents Ruparel, who had held the upper-hand in the initial stages of the day were struggling at 40-2 when stumps were drawn for the day. Electing to bat first, Podar found medium-pacer Rohan Ganpule (4-42) too hot to handle and were tottering at 124-6 before Tawde and Kuklarni got into the rescue act.
