NEW DELHI: Lawters across the country go on a day's strike on Thursday protesting the "unnecessary and unrealistic" amendments effected by the government in the Civil Procedure Code (CPC). The Bar Council of India is refusing to agree with the amendments.

Budget on Feb 29

NEW DELHI: The general budget will be presented in Lok Sabha at 1400 hrs on February 29, parliamentary affairs minister Pramod Mahajan said on Wednesday. The decision was taken at an all-party meeting convened by Lok sabha speaker G M C Balayogi.

AHMEDABAD: SURENDRASINH Vaghela, a real-estate agent and BJP delegate in Ahmedabad taluka panchayat and working committee member, was shot dead just 200 meters away from his residence here on Tuesday. Old rivalry was suspected to be the motive behind the murder.
