Fire at Jalgaon ginning mill
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA


JALGAON, MARCH 11: A large quantity of cotton was gutted in a fire in the Farmers' Cooperative Sangh's ginning mill at Pachora in the district on Friday, police said.

Fire brigade battled the blaze for several hours before it could finally be doused, police said adding the cotton, belonging to the Cotton Marketing Association, was reduced to ashes in the fire.

The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, they added.

Ex-CM injured: Meanwhile, former State chief minister Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar and his son Vijay Kumar were injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a truck at Jagdalwadi in Omerga taluka of neighbouring Osmanabad district on Friday.

Omerga police said that Nilangekar and his son were admitted to a local hospital.

His son, whose legs were fractured in the accident, was out of danger. The condition of the former chief minister was better on Saturday, police, quoting doctors, said.
