VIJAYAWADA, MARCH 11: International Master-elect Dinesh Kumar Sharma (LIC) continues to lead the pack with 6.5 points, while G Rohit (AP) stunned another Fide-rated opponent P Rajesh of T Nagar Chess Academy (TNCA) at the end of 7th round in the National Youth (u-25) Chess Championship here on Saturday.

Dinesh Kumar Sharma, playing whites, took positional advantage against Pankaj Joshi (Venus), who adopted Sicilian Alapin variation. Joshi messed up his middle game and the game went in favour of Dinesh after 44 moves.

The game between RS Prasanna (TNCA) and Syed Anwar Shazuli (TN) ended in a draw in 54 moves.

Manish Joshi (MP) playing black against unseeded N Raju (AP) registered a win in 34 moves. Raju, who lost on time, failed to complete his 40 moves in stipulated two hours time, in a game which began in Reti opening and converted into Kings Indian defence.
