Tulpule bags double crown, Fazal wins men's singles
Press Trust Of India

Calcutta, Mar 11: Pune teenager Radhika Tulpule finished with a double crown, annexing the women's singles title while top seed Syed Fazaluddin bagged the men's singles honours in the Senior National Grasscourt Tennis Championships on Saturday.

Davis Cupper and local boy Fazaluddin fired 10 aces and repeatedly stepped into Kannan's returns, breaking his opponent's service once in each set. The Delhi player struggled with his serve and had no answer to Fazaluddin's booming serves as the match ended in just over an hour.

Tulpule, on the other hand, capitalised on the unforced errors committed by the top seed at crucial moments to put it across the Tamil Nadu player.

In men's doubles, reigning champions and top seed Sourav Panja and Nitin Kirtane bagged the title with a 6-4 6-2 win over Mustafa Ghouse and Vishal Uppal 6-4, 6-2.
