Murdoch keen on optical fibre network in city
Media moghul Rupert Murdoch on Tuesday said he was interested in setting up a state-of-the-art optical fibre telecom carrier network in the city, as part of building a multi-media delivery engine in future.




Microsoft, Andersen in $1 bn consulting venture
Microsoft Corp said on Monday it was forming a $1 billion venture with Andersen Consulting to help deploy Internet services based on its Windows 2000 technology and give it a leg up in consulting, where it has long played second fiddle to its biggest rivals.




BP Amoco buys Castrol for $ 4.7 bn
British oil giant BP Amoco Plc agreed to buy UK lubricants firm Burmah Castrol Plc on Tuesday for three billion pounds ($4.7 billion) in cash to get hold of the Castrol brand name.
