Extension of cotton scheme welcomed
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA


NAGPUR, MARCH 14: Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti on Tuesday welcomed the Maharashtra government's decision to continue the Cotton Monopoly Procurement Scheme for another five years.

Samiti president Kishore Tiwari, in a statement, thanked Governor Dr P C Alexander for the announcement in his customary speech to the joint sitting of the state legislature and Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh for arranging payments to the cotton growers from the Contingency Fund.
