Love your flea

As all of us are aware that during winters, a number of trees shed their leaves. You may find many fallen leaves in and around your colony and school. Here is a very simple yet an interesting hobby, which you can start by collecting leaves of different shapes and sizes. Make a short survey of your locality or area near your school and collect as many types of leaves as you can.

Paste each leaf on a notebook or on a firm flat object with its lower surface, on which the veins are prominent, facing upwards. Place a blank plain sheet (appropriate to the leaf size) firmly on the leaf and rub over the leaf with a crayon. The impression or the autograph of the leaf will appear on the paper.

There is another method to get the leaf impression. Place the collected leaves on a paper. Keep some water-colour ready. Dip a toothbrush in the colour and sprinkle the colour with the help of the bristles either with your thumb or use a pencil. This way, the colour will be sprayed on to the paper, and the outline of the leaf would be clearly seen.
