Variava, Patil sworn in as SC judges

NEW DELHI, MARCH 15: Justice S N Variava and S V Patil were sworn in as judges of the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Chief Justice of India A S Anand administered the oath of office to the two judges at a ceremony in his court.

Justice Variava had served as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, while Justice Patil was the CJ of the Rajasthan High Court.

With the two new appointments, the total strength of judges in the Apex Court goes upto 25.

The sanctioned strength of judges of the Supreme Court, including the CJI, is 26.
