Kirtane and Panja romp into doubles semi-finals

CALCUTTA, MARCH 15: The top seed pair of Nitin Kirtane and Saurav Panja easily swept aside the challenge of Abhishek Jagnani and Ronne Sarkar to romp into the men's doubles semi-finals of the Central Revenue Masters' tennis meet here on Wednesday. The top seed pair combined well to carve out a facile 6-3, 6-2 against their local opponents to keep their title hopes alive.

The second seeded pair of Vasudeva Reddy and Rishi Sridhar demolished local challengers Arka Mondal and Siddharth Verma 6-1, 6-1 to move into the semi-finals.

In another one-sided affair, the third seeded duo of S. Kshivshankar and Anand Radhakrishnan also secured a berth in the last four stage with an easy 6-1, 6-2 verdict,

Unseeded pair of Rajesh Vohra and Ram Kumar pulled off an upset of sorts by demolishing the fourth seeded pair of Rohan Bonappa and Anjan Viplav in three close sets. Vohra and Kumar frustrated the fourth seeded pair by carving out a hard-fought 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 victory.
