US sets mood for Clinton visit, lifts ban on 51 Indian firms
India applauded the formal US removal of 51 companies from the long list of entities which had been banned following the Pokharan tests, on the eve of President Clinton's visit to India, saying that this was a ``small, but sure step'' for improvement in Indo-US relations.

India may not require assistance in future from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) if it continues to follow sound monetary policies that ensure efficiency and stability, a senior central bank official said.




Karnataka to float infotech bonds
