Bangalore man found dead in Doha
DUBAI, MARCH 25: A teacher from Bangalore, working in a school in Doha, was found dead in his quarters in a case of suspected suicide, the Gulf Times reported on Saturday. The body of Sayed Mukhtar Ahmed, a geography teacher at the Ideal Indian School, was found hanging in the school's residential quarters on Wednesday night. He was in his early 30s. Police broke open the door of the house after they were summoned when Mukhtar failed to respond to calls from colleagues living in the `White House' compound near the school. His body was later removed to Hamad Hospital. A post-graduate with a degree in education and diploma in computer applications, Mukhtar had not turned up for work on Wednesday. He had worked in the school for nearly five years. He was married and had a daughter, but his family lived in his home town, his grief-stricken colleagues told the Gulf Times. His colleagues described him as a loving and sensitive person but said he was panicky and behaving strangely for the past two days. He seemed to have some problems, financial or family-related troubling him, his colleagues were quoted as saying by the newspaper. Reportedly, he was disoriented and kept saying, "police are coming after me". He was also threatening to commit suicide, according to the daily.
