Wrong man in Rabri cabinet
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

PATNA, MARCH 26: Anything goes in Bihar - or so it seems as an RJD MLA without the "warrant of appointment" was sworn in as a minister in the Rabri Devi cabinet. After the swearing-in ceremony, an agitated RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav, was seen rushing to the Governor's podium and scolding the man who had not received the "warrant of appointment" but had taken oath.

Ashok kumar, elected on an RJD ticket from Simri-Bakhtiyarpur, marched along with other ministers-designate to the podium where where Governor V C Pande, administered the oath of office and secrecy to them.

All the while his nameshake, RJD MLA from Sasaram watched the proceedings helplessly with the 'warrant of appointment' tucked in his hands.

After the swearing-in ceremony, an agitated RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav, was seen rushing to the Governor's podium and scolding the man who had not received the "warrant of appointment" but had taken oath. When contacted, the RJD working president, Ranjan Prasad Yadav, a Member of Parliament, dismissed the incident as a mere faux pas and said that once one RJD MLA was sworn in, it would be improper to have him ejected from office.
