Two more held in petrol stealing case
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

NASHIK, APRIL 6: Police have arrested two more persons hailing from Mumbai, in connection with the petrol-theft from 252 km long Mumbai-Manmad petrol pipeline of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) near Panewadi at Sinnar, about 29 kms from here.

Police said with these arrests the total number of persons nabbed so far has gone upto ten. Navi Mumbai's Rambhal Yadav (45) of Indrajit Roadlines and Narendra Varma (23) also of Mumbai were arrested for allegedly purchasing stolen stock of petrol. Police have so far seized a tankar, a car and Tata Sumo worth Rs 16 lakh used in the pilferage.

The culprits allegedly used to drill the petrol pipeline near Panewadi and pumped out thousands of litres of purified petrol into tankars and sold it after adulterating it, earning lakhs of rupees, police added.

BPCL officials and police jointly laid the trap last week and arrested eight persons in this connection, police added.
