Absconding TADA accused nabbed
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA


NASIK, APRIL 15: Police arrested an absconding TADA accused involved in the sensational Vaibhav-Katyare murder in the city from Manmad's Railway quarters near here on Friday night.

Birjoo Indori, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by special TADA court here, had been granted a 15 days' parole by jail authorities at Nasik Road Central Jail on January one, police said.

However, Indori did not return to the jail on January 16,police said. Following a tip off that the accused was staying at Manmad's railway quarters with his relatives, police conducted a raid and arrested him.

Earlier, Indori had escaped the police dragnet for five years and was first nabbed by the police in a weekly bazaar at Chanvad in the district.

Three injured in clash over fixing of banners

NANDED: Three persons, including a police constable, were injured in a clash between two groups of Republican Party of India (Athawale faction) supporters over fixing of banners near the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary near the railway station here on Friday.

Three party workers were arrested in this connection, police said. The injured, including district RPI(A) chief Ramesh Sonale, have been admitted to the civil hospital here, police added.
