EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

MUMBAI, MAY 23: The anti-corruption branch of the CBI, Jaipur has registered a case against three Doordarshan officials for allegedly accepting a bribe from a TV producer. The offices and residences of the three, Rati Ram Rana, station director, Krishna Deo Kalpit, executive producer and R P Meena, assistant station director, Jaipur DD Kendra were searched in the first week of May along with arrests of the accused.

The three are alleged to have conspired to knock out money from Rajendra Gupta, producer of a TV serial `Rang Tarang' for granting him 13 additional episodes of the serial and for change in the telecast time.

Kalpit was caught red-handed while accepting an instalment (Rs 15,000) of the bribe amount, sources said. The CBI also got evidence of his sharing the amount with Meena.
