Former Bihar NCP chief joins Samata
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

PATNA, JUNE 19: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today received a jolt when its former Bihar unit president Satish Kumar joined the Samata Party with hundreds of his supporters in the presence of Union ministers George Fernandes and Nitish Kumar. Satish Kumar, former MLA, had quit the NCP president's post in the wake of NCP's debacle in the assembly elections in which it could not win even a single seat.

Satish, one of the founder members of the Samata Party, had quit it to join the Congress and later NCP after his relations soured with Nitish Kumar. Along with Satish, 18 state executive members of NCP and 12 district unit chiefs joined Samata. Welcoming Satish's joining the samata, Fernandes and Nitish Kumar said at a function organised at SK Memorial Hall that it would strengthen Samata's campaign against RJD and its leader Laloo Prasad Yadav.
