Attacks on Christians pre-planned -- Jogi
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

MUMBAI, JUNE 23: "The attacks on Christians in different parts of the country were pre-planned and the Central Government failed to protect the minorities," AICC spokesman Ajit Jogi alleged here today.

Jogi, who is a member of a committee appointed by the party to look into the attacks on minorities in the recent past was in Mumbai today. Addressing a press conference, he alleged that the BJP-led government at the Centre had failed to prevent the attacks on minorities. "Union Home Minister L K Advani is blaming the Inter-Services Intelligence of Pakistan for the attacks. If he is to be belived, then we must admit that the agents of the ISI have reached in several parts of the state," he said. He sought to know what the Central Government was doing when the ISI was spreading its tentacles all over the country.

Jogi also said that the Congress will boycott the proceedings of the Constitution Review Committee appointed by the Central Government. "The Congress will stage demonstrations on the lines of the protests staged against the Simon Commission during the British Rule," Jogi said.

The Constitution Review Panel had sought opinion of the public on the internet, he pointed out. "The act of the committee shows that the review of the Constitution is meant for a particular section of society and that the Central Government has nothing to do with the feelings of dalits and minorities about the Constitution," he said.
