Match-fixing Episode...

Sir,
The frailties of human nature are well known. Greed, hypocrisy exist in the best & mighty, but to own up and tell the truth exists in only a few. Hansie Cronje owned up because of his conscience or the damning evidence, but our so called tall & mighty guys speak one thing privately & the opposite publicly, so that it does not spoil there image. I think it was wise & the correct thing to do on the part of the tehelka team & Manoj Prabhakar to get out the truth from these frail & spineless human beings by filming them secretly. Kudos to him. In our country the scam & scandal masters are perfect in their dishonesty, hence they rarely leave any evidence behind. I think that the media should adopt such type of investigative journalism & the court should rely on them.

Betting & match fixing in Cricket

The sordid affairs of betting & match fixing in cricket makes one wonder whether the name of 'BCCI' should be changed from 'Board of Control of Cricket' to "Betting Control Centre of India".

Kapil Dev's Tirades

Currently the cricketing world is going through a tough time, to say the least. This year we had Cronje's situation. Mr. Cronje initially
denied the charges and later on admitted them, as far as taking money was concerned. Like a man, he took it on the chin. On the other hand, Mr. Kapil Dev has handled the situation he is facing
in a very unprofessional and immature manner. In a recent press
conference, he made several threats to Mr. Prabhakar in a language not befitting "Coach of Cricket India". And that too all in Hindi that the international press reporters could not follow. Kapil Dev thinks this is some kind of "macho" thing to do.
I understand that one is innocent until proven guilty and so in Kapil.
But he should maintain professionalism and calm, instead of threats and foul language in front of the world. Kapil, get a hold of yourself and behave like a gentleman and stop being such a cry-baby. The best thing Kapil can do is to step aside from the coaching job till he sorts out his "things."
Finally to the Indian Test cricket team -- clean your act and be ethical in winning or losing. Or else, get a job just like anyone else and move on and for God's sake, show some "killer instincts to win rather than not to lose. Know the difference? Show some pride in your country, instead of back-biting, corruption, greed, and disloyalty. Grow up, guys!

Kapil's tears.....Tears of Repentence!

Dear Sir,
Kapil Dev did try to bribe Manoj Prabhakar. It is well known that Kapil married because he wanted to get "rich" through the fast lane. No doubt he is a cricket legend and has given lots for Indian Cricket but even the most honest and dedicated professionals can get scummed to the lure of money and then more money.
I strongly feel that he "practiced" his interview, where he cried and infact, he may have had those tears, as tears of repentance. Not only bowling, but when it comes to acting, Kapil Dev can even
beat Shahrukh Khan.

IMRAN MIR

Sir,
This is with reference to Prabakar's allegations on Kapil. It is Very hard to believe and digest that, there were so many incidents which are eclipsed in the last ten years of the cricket. Everyone starts blaming others and the persons who all named as witness are not putting the words in black and white so as to make the things clear. It is very unfortunate that, the sports and sportpersons are all changed to the colour of politics, as they are making use of the situations to damage the other's image. Let the things come out very fast, as we need to take the food when it is hot.
