Gogoi's phone used to contact ULFA -- Mahanta
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

GUWAHATI, JULY 6: Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta today alleged that residential phone of PCC president and MP Tarun Gogoi was used to contact banned ULFA. "Gogoi's own residential telephone was used to contact the terrorist outfit", Mahanta said in a statement here.

He alleged that while addressing a rally at Nalbari recently Gogoi had said Congress was "ready to accept all terms and conditions of the ULFA", which he denied subsequently following public criticism.

Mahanta also alleged that Congress partymen "secretly" met terrorist groups only for electoral gains which was "too dangerous for the integrity of the country". Gogoi could not be contacted for his comments as he is out of station.

A Congress party spokesman denied Gogoi's involvement with the outfit saying "the charges are baseless and far from the truth".
