One dead in CPM-TC clash in Midnapur
MIDNAPUR (WB), JULY 9: The police fired four rounds after one person was killed in an armed clash between CPI-M and the Trinamool Congress activists in Angna village of Midnapur district, late last night. The police said the clashes which broke out between the rival political party workers in 12 villages under Keshpur, Sadar, Kotwali and Pingla police station areas yesterday in the troubled district continued till this morning. The police made a lathi-charge then fired four rounds in the air in Angna village at midnight last night after armed CPI-M activists from Salboni and Keshpur areas raided 10 villages under the Sadar Kotwali police station and were resisted by Trinamool Congress supporters, leading to the death of a CPI-M Supporter, the sources said. There was no casualty in the police firing. The CPI-M activist killed in the clash, a resident of Keshpur village, was yet to be identified.
