India Asian U-15 champs


Mumbai, July 9: India won the inaugural Asian U-15 championship beating Pakistan by 54 runs in the final at Kuala Lumpur, Malayasia on Sunday.

In reply, Pakistan could muster 155 in their alloted 40 overs losing nine wickets to give India the first under-15 Asian Championship Trophy.

P Das, who struck two centuries in the tournament, was named the best batsman. Talukdar was named the best bowler while Abhin Kumar was named as best wicket-keeper.

Brief scores: India: 209 in 39 overs (A Raydu 77, S Kumar 48, P Das 28) bt Pakistan 155-9 in 40 overs (M Choudhary 2-24, N Rathod 2-10, Talukdar 1-30, Raju 1-19, Irfan Pathan 1-16).
