Yuppie Puppie

School was undeniably the most carefree time of my life. I studied in Jamnabai Narsee School and went on to do my commerce in Mithibai College. I really miss it. And no, as a star son, I got no special favors or attention from anyone. And once in a while when I did get that kind of attention, I really didn't like it, so I tried my damnest to shun it. See, at that age, you're trying desperately to find and establish your own identity, in that respect, I was as normal a teenager as any!!

Anyway, since I was interested in the film business I decided to take it up academically. I enrolled in the University UMAS Amagrst and studied film acting, film direction and production and business in film. I decided to take up acting as my major in the third year. When I came back and expressed a desire to act and it took me a year of Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting school and stiff training before Prem Aggan went on the floor.

BOLLYWOOD KI DUNIYA
The truth of the matter is that I didn't go through the struggle that most aspiring actors go through before they can make it. And yes, my filmi background was helpful when it came to people knowing about me. But that's as far as it got. I got no special treatment because I was Feroze Khan's son. The hard fact in the film industry is that unless you're a box office success, nobody bestows preferential treatment your way. My initial struggle was of getting roles of my choice and my actual struggle began after the release of my first film.

FLOP KI AGGAN
I am not discussing Prem Aggan. I have talked and talked about the film and there is little left to say on the subject. No one person can take full responsibility for the failure of any film. And no I don't think Feroze Khan failed me as a director. In fact I'd say that Prem Aggan did a lot of good for me. Imagine getting two popular awards forfor starring in an unpopular film!!

FUTURSCOPE
I'm always going to have high expectations from all my films and Jungle is no exception. But you really can't predict the future. It was a brilliant experience. As for my future after its release well, I'm confident and I have age on my side, lots to do and miles to go, so I am sure that I will make it - the success of any one film notwithstanding!!" "In fact, after the release of the promos, I've started getting some really good offers. Currently, I'm working on two projects - E Niwas' Jackpot, which is a comedy and Rajat Mukherjee's film (with Urmila), which is untitled. And my characters in both the films are not run-of-the-mill fares.

RIVALRY
I don't really like that term and I don't think that rivalry exists in the industry. Every actor has something special to give, some role that is best suited to him. And that role depends on the looks, features and the requirement of that particular actor. We're not running against each other here. Yes, the competition does exist but it exists in the kind of projects you land. Ultimately, however crude you may sound, an actor is a flesh and blood product and acting is like any other job at the end of the day. It's imperative to stay afloat.

Actor/actress I'd die to work with - Kajol, Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu

Favourite actor/actress - Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah, Manoj Bajpai, Al Paccino, Marlin Brando, Kajol, Aishwarya Rai, Tabu, Urmila

Birthday - March 8, 1972

Other interests - I love all and any kind of music. I love to read, fiction and non-fiction.

If I were marooned on an island - I'd look for someone who can make a boat so that I can get back to civilization!!

Idea of romance - I don't really have a fixed idea of romance (interesting guy na?). I guess it's going out of your way to let someone know you care

Most memorable moment - When I graduated from the university in Amagrst

Message to the Cyers - The only thing you need to believe is yourself!!
